The Aiken county government is unique and active. The current mayor of the city of Aiken, SC is Fred Cavanaugh. There are also at this time 9 city council members who serve for a 4 year term. If you are relocating to Aiken from another state, it is required that you register your vehicle with the department of motor vehicles within the first 45 days of your established residency. You must also change your Drivers License to reflect your current address within 90 days.
